About Us
The Donna Independent School District is located in Donna, Texas (known as the Heart of the Valley). Donna is a tight knit community located in Hidalgo County consisting of 89.3 square miles, with the Rio Grande River to the south, Anderson Road to the north, Tower Road to the west and Mid Way Road to the east. We serve over 13,000 students within our 2 high schools, 4 middle schools and 13 elementary campuses. Our number one outcome is to graduate all students per their expected graduation date ready for college, career, or the military. The district has a rich history of traditions, innovative programs, and award-winning programs in CTE, Athletics, and Extra-Curriculars (Dance, Theatre, Choir, and Band). As an active participant of the Texas Education Agency’s Lone Star Governance program, the district and its Board of Trustees pride themselves on choosing to focus on one primary objective: Improving Student Outcomes. As a result of this commitment, firm goals were set in the areas of reading, math and college, career and military readiness. To date, all goals have been met.
